ABOUT

 Our STEM Story

The Champion School, a traditional theme middle school, is the first of its kind in DeKalb! The program first opened in August 2006 and is in historic Stone Mountain, GA. Our faculty and staff provide a rigorous academic program to approximately 750 scholars in grades six, seven, and eight. The instructional setting features an inquiry, interdisciplinary, research-oriented approach to learning that is engaging and relevant. Each grade level utilizes the team approach to content area studies. Our highly qualified staff is dedicated to the whole child's instruction in a safe and nurturing environment with sensitivity to the middle school learner's needs. Because we are DCSD School of Choice, we have scholars from various cities and each middle school across DeKalb County.

In 2018-2019, CTMS became STEM certified. Consequently, The Champion School continues to be excited to offer our scholars the opportunity to apply for our STEM Academy! The past (5) years, we have seen our STEM Academy grow to include scholars from all subgroups, backgrounds and various academic needs.
